457th
BG Association: personal recollections, aircraft database plus over
2000 photos. Infortunately resolution is but average. The 467ttg BG
enterd combat in February 1944.
War
Stories from the 390th BG : 20 stories written by veterans on the site of the 390th
Bomb Group Museum (8th Air Force). Some are very elaborate, producing
photographs and original documents..
Mary Ruth" Memories of Mobile (91st BG) : interviews with
surviving crew members. A document produced by the National Archives
and Air Force Historical Research Agency fully dowloadable as a large
pdf file (9.3 Mo).
The Writing
69th : In February of 1943, eight civilian and military journalists
took part in a training program sponsored by the United States Eighth
Air Force. Walter Post, of the New York Times, found death on the first
mission, and that put an end to the Writing 69th. Several accounts
on the website (surviving crewmember, Luftwaffe pilot, German civilian...)
