The language of aeronautics may not be familiar to you. Georges Delamare's dictionnaire en ligne d'aéronautique might be of some assistance (it includes 144 000 words or expressions, and may be downloaded on you HD for personal use). The dictionary is hosted on Pilotlist : you will find explanations about the theory of flight, and some answers to the many questions which may arise when reading theses stories : what is stalling, what is the angle of attack, what is the influence of load on flight performances, what is the use of feathering etc. Unfortunately for our English-speaking readers, all the explanations are given in French. An excellent account of the theory of flight may be found on Aviation History.
